I am dedicated to social services and I work in the area of research. Preventing child maltreatment & improving the availability and quality of health care are my areas of concern. I have worked in social services since 1990.
I have hope. I'm most often making the best something out of nothing and dancing when possible. Laughing is a must. I can be found looking for and appreciating the good in my life - the life I have right now - just me with my daughter - just moi.
Attempting to pursue artistic creation, academic endeavors, and both parental roles simultaneously, while also holding down the paying-job and domestic routine without completely losing my mind...tying to have some fun and make some meaning out of it along the way.
Aside from Czech buttons, I collect: Vintage crewel embroidery kits, vintage Persian crewel wool/yarn, vintage embroidery implements, scarves, makeup, tea cups, toleware, odd things, plants that other people have basically killed, scraps of fabric/paper/magazines/books/ideas, lyrics/songs, memories, embroidered dresser scarves/tea towels/hankies/etc., and matryoshkas.
I am motivated by love, art, and connectedness. I am the color blue (see tests I've taken).
I make bird noises in my spare time. I make up words for fun.
I make serious and silly films:
* Being me
* Czech and Russian accents
* crewel embroidery
* creative and academic/report writing
* impersonations and funny faces
* finding the right song
* quick-witted comebacks
* creative thinking
* critical analysis
* disco dancing
* reading people (ENTP)
* bringing other people's dead plants back to life
* giving love
* finding treasures
* shaking my ass, kicking ass, getting some ass
* getting back up
* getting it done
Like no other.
